New Student Information

New Student Registration 

  1. Gather Required Documents - All documents must be submitted prior to pre-registration appointments.
    • Proof of Residency - View Accepted Items HERE!
    • Eye, Ear, Dental, and Nutrition Screening (GA FORM 3300) must be signed by the health department or a licensed Georgia Physician.
    • Immunization Certificate - Georgia law requires students to be immunized against measles, mumps, polio, rubella, whooping cough, tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis B, haemophilus influenza, varicella and meningitis or provide a notarized waiver for medical or religious exemption. Immunization information must be on the proper Georgia Department of Human Resources form; these are available through the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness or local physicians (Form 3231).
    • Proof of Date of Birth - A certified copy of a birth certificate, certified hospital issued birth record or birth certificate, military ID, valid driver's license, passport, or an adoption record.
    • Social Security Card - Social security numbers are voluntary. However, the lack of a Social Security number will result in the denial of the HOPE scholarship. Students who enroll without a Social Security card (for example, international students, those who sign a 30-day waiver, etc.) will be issued a number by the school system, beginning with the numbers 999-.
    • Academic Records - Please bring the most recent report card, withdrawal form from previous school and/or transcripts. These are essential for proper placement of students. Students in grades 7-12 also will need copies of any discipline records.
    • International Academic Student Records - Students that are coming from out of the country, please contact the AHS Registrar for instructions.
    • 504/IEP/ESL – If your student has a 504 plan, receives Special Education services or receives or have received English as a Second Language services please let us know and forward those records to us before your appointment.
  2. Complete Online Enrollment Form and upload required documents. For more information, please visit the FCS Registration Homepage.
  3. Email Donna Byrd (byrdd@fultonschools.org) for next steps with the completed online application number and for next steps.
  4. Once the Registrar reviews the online application and approves, the prospective parent will receive a "Pre-enrollment" email with a link to make a conference call appointment with the student's assigned counselor.  
  5. Once the assigned counselor completes the pre-enrollment conference, she will inform the Registrar if the student is approved to start.
    The Registrar enrolls students and sends a "Congratulations" email with all welcoming AHS information.

Withdrawal Information

  1. Schedule an appointment with the AHS Registrar, Donna Byrd.
  2. Complete and sign a Fulton County withdrawal form.
  3. Bring the completed withdrawal form and all school issued supplies when you arrive for your appointment.
