School Safety
Dear Alpharetta High School Community,
I hope this message finds you well and that this weekend has provided some time for reflection and togetherness. As we look ahead to the coming week, it's important that we continue to foster a sense of security and support for our students and staff.
Parents, please share this information with your students and remind them of the importance of reaching out to any trusted adult at AHS if they need assistance. It's also a good opportunity to discuss the impact of their online behavior and reinforce the principles of digital responsibility. While our students receive digital citizenship training at school, these conversations at home can make a meaningful difference.
Many of you have asked about the Evolv Express system, which is part of our district-wide safety initiative. Additional details can be found in the attached documents.
At Alpharetta High School, our commitment to safety and security is unwavering. We implement a range of measures supported by both Fulton County Schools and our local School Governance Council, including:
- Centegix: A wearable panic button for staff, featuring dynamic digital mapping, real-time location tracking, and immediate notifications to our safety team.
- Emergency White Buttons: Installed in classrooms for rapid alerts.
- Crisis Go: An application for internal emergency communication among faculty.
- 3M Scotchshield Safety and Security Window Film Ultra Series: Enhances window strength and safety.
- Avigilon Surveillance System: Provides comprehensive campus monitoring.
- Controlled Points of Access: Managed access to the building.
- Staffed and Monitored Reception Desk: Located at the main entrance.
- Student and Staff ID Badges: Required for identification.
- Classroom Door Protocols: Doors must remain closed and locked at all times.
- Limited Hallway Access: Students have restricted access to hallways during instructional time.
- Security and Emergency Response Team Routines: Established routes and protocols for efficient response.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. Together, we can ensure a safe and supportive environment for everyone at Alpharetta High School.
